A Museum-Like Hideaway Beyond the Fukugi Tree Tunnel

A Private Retreat Limited to Two Groups Per Day, Offering a “Stay in Silence” for a New Era of Northern Okinawa Travel

Just 20 minutes by car from Junglia and Churaumi Aquarium — a retreat for adults seeking the balance between vibrant exploration and restorative stillness.

Located in the traditional village of Imadomari in Nakijin, Okinawa, Hizuki is an exclusive private retreat limited to only two groups per day. Since its grand opening in July 2025, it has welcomed couples and adults seeking to escape the noise of city life and reconnect with a quieter rhythm.

With the upcoming opening of the new northern Okinawa attraction, “Yanbaru Tornado,” in Golden Week 2026, demand for the region continues to grow. Hizuki offers a rare experience that combines both convenient access to major attractions and profound tranquility, inviting guests to experience Okinawa as if they were living there.

Three Distinctive Features of Hizuki

1. Where Traditional Village Meets Modern Architecture

Hizuki is located within Imadomari, a village that preserves the original landscape of Okinawa.

Beyond a tunnel of Fukugi trees, guests discover a modern structure reminiscent of an art museum. Stepping inside, the atmosphere shifts completely — into a timeless, extraordinary space.

Within walking distance, guests will find quiet beaches and traditional local shops, offering an opportunity to immerse themselves naturally into everyday Okinawan life.

2. Two Private Suites — Japanese and Western, Each with Its Own Character

Hizuki offers only two suites.

The Japanese Suite features Ryukyu tatami flooring, an earthen floor entrance, and a serene bathroom defined by deep black tones, creating a space of quiet contemplation.

The Western Suite offers natural wood flooring, warm plaster walls, and a striking crimson bath inspired by Shuri Castle, creating a welcoming and refined atmosphere.

All furniture and décor have been carefully sourced from local Okinawan artisans and shops, expressing the beauty of Okinawa in every detail.

3. Thoughtful Hospitality That Creates Time for Reflection

At Hizuki, hospitality is designed to offer space — not intrusion.

Guests are welcomed with a handmade light breakfast and a handwritten message card from the owners.

Because the retreat hosts only two groups per day, it maintains a comfortable and respectful distance, allowing guests to fully relax and reflect.

The Story Behind Hizuki

The owners spent many years working in corporate life in the city. In April 2025, they left their careers and relocated to Okinawa to fulfill a long-held dream:

To create a place where staying itself becomes a moment to reflect on life.

This dream was inspired by their own visit to Okinawa five years earlier, when they experienced the healing power of the island’s natural rhythm and the warmth of its people.

After five years of preparation, including the challenges of the COVID era, Hizuki finally opened in July 2025 in Nakijin Village — the place they had chosen as their ideal home.

Looking Ahead — A New Way to Experience Okinawa

Hizuki is ideally located just 20 minutes from Churaumi Aquarium and the highly anticipated theme park Junglia.

With the upcoming opening of “Yanbaru Tornado” in 2026, northern Okinawa is entering an exciting new phase.

After a day of vibrant exploration, guests can return to Hizuki and restore themselves in silence.

Hizuki offers a journey defined by contrast —
between movement and stillness,
activity and reflection.

This is the experience we invite guests from around the world to discover.
